Working From Home is Like Tilling My Garden
This spring my wife and I planted a garden at our home. We wanted to have all the befenits of having fresh vegitables available. We cleared a small plot of land in our front yard and thought about what we wanted to plant there. We knew exactly what we wanted to do and what the end result would be. Then came the hard part.
I like to think of my home business like a garden. When I first considered working from home to earn extra income I had a lot of work to do. I knew of the benefits of being my own boss, things like; setting my own hours, tax advantages, job satisfaction and the big money potential that is there. I looked at some business opportunities and other ways to earn money for myself and settled on the one I liked best. Then came the hard part.
Before my wife and I were able to enjoy the fruits of our labor in the garden we had to plant the little plants. I borrowed a roto-tiller from a friend of mine to break up the ground and prepare it. The tiller had belonged to his father-in-law and had been sitting on the side of his house for three years, with gasoline in the tank. If you know anything about small engines you know that the gasoline in the tank will gel and clog the engine up. So, naturally the tiller didn’t work and I had to repair it.
I want all the freedoms that come from working at home. However, before I can quit my regular job I need to have a some success in my own business. I mentioned earlier that I had chosen a business opportunity that I liked, this is like the tiller. Lightyear Alliance is the tool that I use to get myself into the position to work from home. However, just like the tiller won’t till the ground without someone operating it, My business won’t succeed without my effort.
In order to get the tiller working I had to do some work. I had to clean out the gas tank and remove all the sludge that had built up. I removed the carbourator and cleaned it out. I scrubbed the fuel filter with a toothbrush and replaced all the gaskets. I also repaired the vacume line and changed the spark plug. After all that the tiller started right up and I was able to prepare the ground for a successfull garden.
I also have work to do on my business. I need to overcome fear of talking to people about my business. I have a fear of rejection that needs some work still. I need to manage my time better. I should keep a positive outlook all the time. And I must stop procrastinating. By doing all of these things I will be better prepared for the success and rewards of working from my home office that I have set up.
I believe that anyone can be successful working for themselves if they are willing to put in the effort needed.
